Academic Qualifications:

• Graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from H. R. College, Mumbai in 1982.
• Graduated with a Master of Business Administration from Babson College, Wellesley, U.S.A. in 1985.

 

Work Experience and Profile:

Co-founded Godrej Foods Limited (a joint venture between Great Eastern Shipping Co. Ltd. and Godrej Soaps Ltd.) and worked as Vice-President (Finance) from 1985 to 1989.

Joined The Great Eastern Shipping Co. Ltd. on July 1, 1990` and is currently Executive Director of the Company. Great Eastern is India’s largest private sector shipping company operating 41 ships comprising crude and product tankers, gas carrier, bulk carriers with an annual revenue of Rs.2342 crores and net profits of Rs.838 crores.  Rated as Asia’s 3rd most profitable company by Forbes Asia, 200 Best Under a Billion.

He has been appointed Managing Director of Greatship (India) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Great Eastern Shipping Co. Ltd., which is pursuing its interest in the offshore oil field service industry with a projected capital outlay of around US$ 400 million over the next 2 ½ years.

He is a strategic investor in Companies with good governance and robust revenue model. He has been instrumental in identifying potential growth stories with sound business fundamentals.
